Areas of Interest/Work:

  • Trauma and the body - Alex is a trauma informed therapist with a keen interest in continual development in this area. She will facilitate your learning and practice of techniques to regulate and heal trauma in the body and she offers psycho education around the neurobiology of trauma and ways of working within.

  • Relational Trauma - Alex understands that we are hurt in relationships and we heal in relationships. She works to bring her nervous system in connection with the clients' to facilitate safe neuroception; and brings this way of working into supervision. Alex has knowledge and experience in the areas of attachment, adoption, domestic abuse, sexual abuse and other forms of relational ruptures and trauma. Under this umbrella, she offers parenting counselling/therapeutic parenting as part of her practice and can facilitate you in these areas if they are of interest.

  • Neuro-divergence - Alex has a high proportion of autistic and ADHD clients and works closely with her neurodivergent supervisor that specialises in this area to facilitate her practice. Alex works in a neuro-affirming way that facilitates her clients to understand their neurotype, their experiences of people and environments and supports development of their self-compassion and self-advocacy that enables them to live well. Alex is due to complete a Specialist Diploma Neurodiversity Informed Practice with The Greenane Centre in early 2025.

Fees:

Alex works both online or face-to-face in Hull, and her current fee is £60 per 50 minutes.

With a full practice and contracts with external organisations, Alex also has an income via her associate therapist network.

Alex’s ultimate passion is her work with her clients but her practice is a business; she utilises strong boundaries, ethics and develops authentic and respectful relationships.
